Don’t avoid it. Accept it. Congratulations, your life just got MUCH easier and your load just got much lighter! Seriously. Try this. It will make you more relaxed and calm and avoid a potentially never-ending, losing game.
People around you will take credit, probably doesn’t matter what company, job, environment.
It’s a human trait. Ultimately this will catch up to them, but more importantly: what is it that is making you afraid? Are you worried they will be given an opportunity ahead of you because they stole the limelight? Is it worth competing for the “credit”? Is it worth the stress?
Less qualified, less-innovative people will get better jobs, more pay, more opportunity. Is your goal to slow their progress, or accelerate yours?
The ego is a powerful force. Your ego, your expectations of your value and appreciation all factor into your thoughts.
